Draughtsman – Crewshield
Sydney Pereira has over 16 years of concept, design and drafting of process equipments in addition to well intervention and testing equipments. Sydney’s position as Draughstman at Crewshield entails the development of concepts and ideas created by Project Engineers and Discipline Engineers and evolving them into detailed CAD drawings to meet the requirements of Crewshield’s projects. Sydney is instrumental to the technical specificities and detailing for each and every company product.
Sydney’s career has focused on design in the main. The first three years at the beginning of his design journey saw him move up in the industry in Mangalore, India as a Steel and Structural Draugtsman as well as a CAD Engineer for Vivek Engineering Corporation, Access Systems International Inc and Standard Engineering Solutions between 2004 and 2007.
From 2007 and 2010, Sydney was the Structural Draughtsman at Roshan Construction LLC in Dubai, the UAE. His key outputs were in designing and detailing RCC and steel structures such as factories, warehouses, residential buildings and labor accommodations in accordance to residential city regulations.
From there Sydney took on the position of Senior Draughstman and Project Coordinator at Zasco Contracting LCC in Dubai. With the Ministry of Transport and Communication Sultanate of Oman as the core client, Sydney’s remit involved the design, manufacturing, installation and commission of sludge and slop facilities. It was in this role that Sydney’s prowess for drawing was developed when he was required to detail sketches for API 650 tanks (500m3, 200m3, 50m3) among a wide breadth of other projects. This also lead to developing detailed shop drawings for steel Pontoons.
Between 2011 and 2015, Sydney transferred his unique knowledge to Indata Oilfield Equipment Manufacturing LCC in Dubai where he was the Senior Design Draughtsman (Mechanical/Process). Key areas included: drilling, testing and production equipments, trailer mounter packages and modular buildings.
Sydney’s most recent role before joining Crewshield was held at Canadian Energy Equipment Manufacturing in Ras Al Khaimah where he was the Lead Draughtsman (Mechanical/Structural). During his tenure Sydney was involved in the up-gradation of CEEM advanced hydraulic work over unit as per customer requirements, as well as concept, designing and detailing of surface equipments like power pack, tool houses, generator packages and sound attenuator enclosures.
Having worked closely with major clients including ADMA OPCO, Halliburton, Schlumberger, M-I Swaco, Sydney has bolstered his aptitude for design considerations across onshore and offshore structures.
Sydney’s Mechanical Draughtsman/Allied Trade training was undertaken at the HEBICH Technical Training Institute in Mangalore. Additional training includes: Milling on a Lathe and CNC Programming and Operation.
